All these pieces are cut from a section of wing from a WW2 United States Air Force Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress with original silver paint and the blue and white bar from the Star and Bars USAAF National markings. Photographs above show the full piece.

This is the lower wing surface from the starboard wing of a B-17 model G that crash landed in the English countryside in WW2. The paint is original silver paint that has faded to a matt grey colour.

The blue and white bar is from one side of the USAAF national markings on the lower wing - there was one Star and bars on the port upper and another on starboard lower. The section beside this has the remains of a Drain marking that confirms it to be lower surface.

The Star and Bars was a 70 inch diameter circle with a white bar extending to 35 inches ( 1/2 the diameter) with a blue surround that was 1/18th diameter/3.89 inches. The blue bar is exactly this width.

The wing broke off at the main spar which is why the top edge of the markings is not present.

The wing section as found being used as a fence by a farmer in the South of England and then has spent many years in private collections.

The rear corrugated section is exactly correct for a B-17 and has the original green chromate paint. The reinforcing rib has been removed.
